Fishing rods
Some people think that they might have more success on the lake if
they build their own fishing rods instead of buying them. This may or
may not be true, but if a person wants to build his own rod, it is completely
possible.
Some of the items needed to build fishing rods are:
• X-acto knife - Although you do not necessarily need an X-acto
knife, you would be best off being able to find some kind of a sharp,
thin knife. If you can get your hands on an X-acto knife, it is probably
your best bet.
• A lighter - This falls into the category of something you might
not have thought you would need to make a fishing rod.
• Thread - Used as the line that you use to catch the fish. If
it is, you need to make absolute certain that you have strong thread.
• Masking tape
• Epoxy - Try to find some that does not take too long to dry.
The optimal choice would be the epoxy that requires only about 5 minutes
of drying time.
• Tiny paintbrush - If you want to make sure the rod looks nice
after it has been constructed you can use a paintbrush for detail work.
• Rubber bands - Useful in helping to create snap-back actions
on the areas of the rod where it is needed.
• Tape measure - If you do not make exact measurements, you may
find things do not match up as well as you had hoped.
• Magic Marker - You can use this item to put the final finishing
touches on the rod or fill in spaces that need filled in after everything
else has been completed.
It is important to get all of this equipment and once you do, you will
be ready to start building your own fishing rods.
